Horseback Riding
Being in the saddle is as about as American West as you can get. Our Colorado horseback tours in the summer are a magical experience. The mountains are alive with wildlife and the sweet smell of wildflowers. You’ll may see, elk, deer and bighorn sheep filling their bellies on the rich abundant grass. This is a special activity to be experiencing in the Colorado high country.
One Hour Horseback Ride
Our one hour ride gives a taste of Colorado’s natural beauty. Leaving ranch headquarters you will climb to breathtaking vistas of the Glenwood Canyon and the winding Colorado River. As you wind up our mountain trails you may catch a glimpse of elk, deer, wild turkey or other wildlife. Our knowledgeable guides will be glad to answer any questions you may have about local points of interest, area history, wildlife and vegetation.
Prices starting at: $40/rider
Ride time is approximately 1 hour. Please allow extra time for saddle up and orientation. Due to safety and comfort issues we do not allow double riders.
Two Hour Horseback Ride
Two hours in the saddle is the ideal way to enjoy the majestic Western Colorado Rocky Mountains. From the stables at ranch headquarters you will climb in elevation. You will cross a natural mesa meadow which provides opportunities to overlook the Colorado River and Glenwood Canyon. As you leave the meadow and continue to ascend, the mountain trail vistas of the Glenwood Canyon expand as the Colorado River snakes lazily through the canyon floor.

Sunset Dinner Horseback Ride
The sunset dinner ride combines a 2 hour horseback ride with a mouthwatering western chuckwagon steak dinner. Meals are cooked and served at the chuckwagon. Menu items are served family style and include steak, baked potato, fresh baked rolls, garden salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and dessert. Ice tea and lemonade are standard beverage options. You haven’t had western cookin’ till you’ve had our western BBQ. Reservations required, departs at 5:00pm.

Sunset Horseback Ride
Watch the sun sag low in the western Colorado sky while enjoying a gorgeous view of the Rockies. This 2 hour ride affords you a once in a lifetime experience to close out a perfect day. From the stables at ranch headquarters you will climb in elevation. You will cross a natural mesa meadow which creates opportunity to overlook the Colorado River and Glenwood Canyon.
Price: $65/rider – Departs at 5pm and 6pm
Wild Wild West Two-hour Horseback Ride
Looking for more adventure? We have working livestock horses used in our ranching operation. This ride is featured for a more experienced and adventurous rider. Riders are accompanied by a wrangler but will have the opportunity to run. This ride is not for novice riders but experienced riders looking for more than a typical trail ride. Riders assume all inherent risks of horseback riding.
Price: $85 (Must be 18 or older)
