The mountains are alive with wildlife and the sweet smell of wildflowers. You’ll may see, elk, deer and bighorn sheep filling their bellies on the rich abundant grass. This is a special activity to be experiencing in the Colorado high country.
Glenwood Canyon Two Hour Horseback Ride
Two hours in the saddle is the ideal way to enjoy the majestic Western Colorado Rocky Mountains. From the stables at ranch headquarters you will climb in elevation. You will cross a natural mesa meadow which provides opportunities to overlook the Colorado River and Glenwood Canyon. As you leave the meadow and continue to ascend, the mountain trail vistas of the Glenwood Canyon expand as the Colorado River snakes lazily through the canyon floor.
Sunlight Two Hour Horseback Ride
Experience the authentic Colorado West at our Sunlight Mountain Stables upon Compass mountain overlooking majestic Mount Sopris and the awe inspiring Elk Mountain Range. On your tour through the the White River National Forest be sure to keep your eyes open so you do not miss any of the breathtaking views. Surrounded by Aspens and wildflowers, this horseback ride is like no othere.
Glenwood Canyon One HOUR HORSEBACK RIDE
Our one hour ride gives ample time for a taste of Colorado’s natural beauty. Leaving ranch headquarters you will climb to breathtaking vistas of the Glenwood Canyon and the winding Colorado River.
Sunlight One Hour Horseback Ride
Escape to the beautiful colors and the cool heights of the western Rocky Mountains on horseback! Let the gentle mountain breeze set the mood as you meander through the serene backdrop of the colorful aspen groves, majestic pine trees, abundant wildflowers and a variety of wildlife.
Glenwood Canyon Sunset Dinner Ride (3+ Hour experience)
The sunset dinner ride combines a 2 hour horseback ride with a mouthwatering western chuckwagon steak dinner. Meals are cooked and served at the chuckwagon. Menu items are served family style and include steak, baked potato, fresh baked rolls, garden salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and dessert. Ice tea and lemonade are standard beverage options. You haven’t had western cookin’ till you’ve had our western BBQ.

Sunlight Sunset Horseback Ride
The beauty of the sunset ride cannot even begin to be described…picture in your mind the setting sun as it lowers behind Mount Sopris, brilliant hues of red, orange, yellow, sometimes purples too, just as you are riding a top Compass Mountain. The perfect way to end the perfect riding experience. You will certainly want to bring your camera! Peaceful and serene, we often get to see wildlife on this last ride of the day.
