Fly Fishing Adventures

Glenwood Springs sits at the confluence of Colorado’s two best rivers for fly-fishing, the Roaring Fork and the Colorado. Emerald Water Anglers has teamed up with Glenwood Adventure Company to offer some of the best fly-fishing experiences in the world. Emerald Water Anglers have been leading the fly fishing industry both nationally and internationally for over a decade. Colorado native guides Steven Brown and Ryan Davis bring over 25 years of professional guiding experience to this valley. Whether you are a first time fly-fisher or veteran angler, Ryan or Steve will provide top-shelf guiding and instruction. Rule #1: HAVE FUN! Fly-fishing offers the chance to enjoy paradise while learning something new.

Classic Full Day Float Trips

Emerald Water Anglers offers full day float fishing trips on the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers. We catch giant rainbow and brown trout from high quality dories and rafts through class 2 and 3 water. Lunch is not only included, but consciously prepared. We use a local baker with local ingredients to provide an exquisite lunch on the river. Ice cold drinks provided.

1/2 Day Float Trips

If you don’t have enough time to fish for a whole day, fish with us for a half day. Either morning or afternoon, we will show you an epic fly-fishing experience.

Magic Hour Fishing

Emerald Water Anglers offers a unique evening/sunset fishing experience offered by no other company in the Roaring Fork Valley. Although most commercial fly-fishing trips are experienced during “business hours,” an evening fish can be even more productive with less time commitment.  This is a 2 ½ hour trip from 5:30-8:00 pm and can be experienced by boat or walk and wade. If you can adjust your dinner plans, fish with us during magic hour!

Guiding is teaching. We have spent our lives learning about rivers, trout, bugs, and fly-casting. Come share our knowledge and enthusiasm!

Learn how to Fly Fish Program

Never Fly-fished before or feeling a little rusty?  Our 2 hour learn-to-fish workshop is one of the best deals in the Valley.  We will set you up with rod and reel, teach you how to cast, introduce you to flies and how to rig your rod and practice it all in one of the best fishing holes on the Roaring Fork River.  All participant of the Fly Fishing Program will receive a 10% discount on future trips.

RYAN DAVIS is a very accomplished oarsman and another one of our float guides who spends most of June chasing the salmonfly hatch around the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. His knowledge of hatches and float fishing tactics has grown to be of equal stature as his rowing capabilities, and he is a great host for a day of floating down our local rivers.
