Glenwood Adventure Company working with Aspen Alpine Guides offers guided climbing and hiking tours in Glenwood Springs and the surrounding areas. All year round, we offer guided alpine treks hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, snow-shoeing, cross country ski instruction and tours, backcountry skiing, backpacking, hut trips and high altitude training.

We specialize in creating custom backcountry adventures in Glenwood Springs and Aspen for individuals and groups of all abilities and sizes. We also offer several cross-over ski instructors who are able to teach through the Ski and Snowboard Schools of Aspen/Snowmass.  These instructors have medical certifications as well as avalanche training and are available for both kids and adults.  Lessons take place on-mountain, in the side country, in the backcountry or a combination that results in Lift-served side country or boarding.

Rock Climb on in the Roaring Fork Valley. Glenwood Adventure Company is proud to offer Aspen Alpine Guides who teach all levels of kids and adults.  Instruction in basic rock skills, knots, belaying and movement on rock.  All safety equipment including climbing shoes, helmets, harnesses, ropes and anchors are included and lunch can be arranged for full day climbs.

Hiking Mt. Sopris and Colorado’s ‘Fourteeners’

Our guides provide a unique overnight experience on one of the most majestic mountains in Colorado.  Base Camp at Thompson Lakes and ascend the peak in the morning, enjoying the sunrise and beautiful 360 views of Western Colorado from the top.  Glenwood Adventure Company also offers a variety of 14’er climbs with the Aspen Alpine Guides.  Peaks include North an.d South Maroon, Pyramid Peak, Snowmass Mtn, Capital Peak, Elbert, La Plata and Castle and Conundrum peaks.  All safety equipment provided.

Snowshoeing and Skiing

Backcountry Hut Trips

Experience a true outdoor adventure on snowshoes, AT or Telemark skiis.  Our guides can assist with trip itineraries that can be for single or multiple days.  Glenwood Adventure Company provides guides, logistical support, group equipment with first aid and emergency gear.  Backpacks, tents and some additional equipment is also available, or rental equipment can be arranged.

Guided Backcountry Skiing

Our guides provide guided day tours for backcountry skiers on AT or Telemark gear.  Glenwood Adventure Company uses Aspen Alpine Guides for winter peak ascents and ski descents.  Beacons, probes, and shovels are provided and ski equipment can be arranged for rental.   We also provide more casual ski touring in a variety of places in the Roaring Fork Valley.
